We do this fun crazy thing at our church called Quest. It is a retreat weekend for all the youth were they are submerged in the Word and then living it out by doing various community service projects. The kick off was last night and I found out I have 12-11th grade girls staying in my home this weekend! And a couple of college leaders, thank you God! It is such an awesome time though. Brandon and I did it last year and we were so blessed to have been a host home for some very wonderful girls. This year I actually have several of my connect group class(AKA-Sunday School). I have been running around like crazy putting the finishing touches on treats for the girls, cleaning up spilled food from preschoolers, and trying to get a shower, yes the first of the day! Please join me in Quest this weekend by lifting up these 12 ladies and all the other stidents involved in Quest at Long Hollow Baptist Church. I will let you know how it goes.

Quest! Am I crazy or what??
February 29, 2008Go Dores!
February 27, 2008I am really getting excited! The Dores take on the number one seat “the Vols” tonight in what I hope will be a great basketball game. And by great I mean a Dore victory! Now a lot of fellow Dores are lacking confidence in our boys, but I have full confidence in them! I am secretly planning a victory party! Brownies are baking and the boys are setteling down for a movie. Enjoy the game! I am sure I will be posting tommorow!
Running
February 24, 2008Ok, maybe frustrated was suppose to be my word for the year?? For those who do not know, I am actually training for the country music half marathon this year. Last year I decieded about 2 weeks prior I would do it. I walked most of it and it was a great experience. But this year I began early in January actually training. And Saturday our long run was 9.0 miles. Sounds like fun huh? Anybody who tells you it is, is lying! It never seems to get easier! But it is a mind game. I expereinced my first injury Saturday and am totally frustrated with the whole thing. All I know is my knee is sore and it better get fixed really quick because I have worked too hard to stop now! So, I will venture out some more for this hobby called running. And maybe one day I will learn to love all of running and not just the “me” time of it!
Frustrated!!
February 22, 2008Ok girls! I spent a whole hour updating and posting on my blog. I had this great post titled “Why can’t their be a Baptist in Hendersonville” unfortantly, after I appartently messed it up, it DISAPPEARED! I have no idea where it went??? And why did just the tilte remain?? So, no Amy you did not miss something. It wasn’t there. And Sarah, I am going to take you up on your offer. Are you busy Tuesday? Just kidding! Love ya
A quick Grammer note
February 15, 2008Just to let you English majors in on a little secret…I am horrible at all grammer and spelling. I know there is a spell check on here, but sometimes it does not pop up and I don’t know where to find it so…just read on and try to overlook it. Because even if I really tried, it would still be bad!
A crazy end to a fun evening!
February 15, 2008Ahh…valentines Day! Well the night before I did all the prep or so I though! All 3 kids had their Valentines made and by the door. Cooper had his heart shaped sandwhiches made. I had the extra valentines in the Target bag to take back after I dropped the kids off. Before they marked them 50% off. So, off to McDonald’s to return a movie to the redbox. All was well, we get to school and I realize that Mackenzie’s valentines are still sitting by the door anlong with that Target bag. Oh and Bakers Q item for show and tell was left in the van, a quater. Now I am frantically searching for a quater. He can’t be the only one with out a show and tell! Alyssa Vick saves the day with a quater! Thanks! Now on with the morning, I drop off the kiddos go back home retrieve the Target bag and the abandened valentines. Now on about my day! After a great “mommy time” I picked up the kids and head to Grandmother’s who has so sweetly offered to keep all 3 kids overnight so Brandon and I can have a nice evening out. I get them dropped off and Brandon and I head for an early dinner at Carrabas, we are going to beat the crowd, it is 4:30. Boy were we wrong…the wait was already 60 minutes. Thankfully the pasta and pizza bar was empty! And that is were we wanted to sit. If you have never taken advantage of it, it is a blast! We always meet a new couple, talk with the manager, and are very entertained! It is almost like watching a reality show! After a fabulous dinner we head home to watch No Reservations, I guess we just can’t get enough of the restraunt stuff?? Great movie. I realize I left my cell phone in the van and Brandon goes to retrieve it for me………Guess what?? He locked the keys in the van in our garage! And we don’t know where the extra key is! By now it is officially “after hours” so there went a little more cash! The locksmith was great took him about 10 seconds to pop it open and I plan on getting a spare key very quickly! I hope your day was just as fun and crazy!
Free Pancakes
February 12, 2008Don’t forget today is National Pancake Day. Ihop is giving a way free shortstack (3 pancakes) from 7 am -10 pm tonight! I think the kids and I will go before school. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day!
Do they all have to have a title?
February 8, 2008Who knows, maybe I will get the hang of this sometime! I am soon going to enlist some major help to get this blog looking a bit better!
I am enjoying some “mommy time” as Cooper is asleep (my angel!), Baker is having rest time-”because he is the biggest”, and my darling Mackenzie is quietly laying in her bed lady like-kicking the wall every 5 minutes or so. This is her new way of letting us know she is awake. Sometimes better that a yell other times worse. She fell asleep in the car for about 5 minutes on the way home and now thinks she doesn’t have to have a nap. We all know how that turns out if the nap is skipped.
I have spent my time being encouraged by reading up on some of your blogs, cooking a fabulous dinner or a least a hope so, and paying some bills. Thanks so my friend Amy L. who has given me a great new recipe to try. Maybe if I can figure it out I will post a pic of the yummy smelling dinner.
As I read my email for our Y-runners this morning we were told to do our carb loading tonight. We have a fun 8.5 mile run in the morning. Being as how my longest ever is 7.75 and it just about killed me, I don’t think any amount of carb loading will help. Let’s face it it is all going to the rear anyway! LOL! It seems as though the more I run the more I eat. And the cravings just aren’t the healthiest. Well, I will have to work on that. I am off to finish up The Shackfor bookclub tomorrow. Great read for anyone who has not already ready it.
I guess this makes it official!
February 4, 2008I have now joined, kicking and screaming, to the world of blogging! Just kidding, I am really excited about the aspect of being able to get thoughts out of my whirlwind of a mind and down on paper, or whatever this is called! Thanks to some close friends for encouraging me to do this. I am VERY technical and computer challanged so you guys will have to bear with me. Hopefully, I will get the hang of this and it will become as familiar to me as getting dressed. Stay tuned for more.
